State Government for the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador at the east coast of Canada. The seat of government is at the capital city of St. John's, which is also the oldest city in North America.

The province lies between the 46th and 61st parallels with the bulk of the island portion being below the 50th parallel. The island is located in the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the larger Labrador portion is on the eastern part of the Canadian mainland. Newfoundland and Labrador is Canada's most easterly province and its newest having joined Confederation in 1949.

Through this site, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador seeks to improve service to the public by increasing awareness of provincial government programs and services, business opportunities, and tourism potential.

This site is managed by Communications and Public Engagement Branch, a division of the Executive Council, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Information Officer.
