The Oswaldo Cruz Group does not belong to investors, but to a family of educators, now in its third generation. And that makes all the difference.

In its history, which dates back to the foundation of Ginásio Oswaldo Cruz, in 1914, all decisions were taken in favor of education and the growth of the country.

In the 1950s, for example, as a way of participating in the country's industrialization process, the Oswaldo Cruz Technical School created, in a pioneering way, the Technical Chemistry Course, as there is no strong industry without the domain of chemistry. The country needed technicians in the area.

This demand for specialized professionals made the Oswaldo Cruz Technical School responsible for 60% of enrollments in all technical courses in the country in the years 1962 and 1963.

The success of the technical course and the growing industrialization of the country brought the need for higher-level chemicals in the industry. Thus, in 1967, the Escola Superior de Chemica was born, offering undergraduate courses in Industrial Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.

From then on, Grupo Oswaldo Cruz continued to expand. It currently has six units installed in fifty thousand square meters, housing more than eight thousand students. The graduation offers a total of 20 courses, divided into the areas of Health Sciences, Exact Sciences, Applied Social Sciences, Communication, Design, Education, Engineering and Technologies. The Oswaldo Cruz Postgraduate Research and Extension Center has 55 lato sensu or MBA courses, distributed in the areas of Communication, Education, Engineering, Business Management, Chemistry and Health.

At the Avenida Angélica unit, secondary education is offered in conjunction with morning professional education. In the evening period, modular technical courses are given in line with the Law of Guidelines and Bases for National Education.
