Millar Western

Millar Western is an Alberta-based, privately held forest products company that has been in business for more than a century. We produce lumber, hardwood and softwood pulp, and specialty wood products at facilities known for their advanced production and environmental control technologies. Fibre to run these mills is supplied through our woodlands operations, which are recognized for their leadership in progressive, sustainable forest management.

Millar Western operates sawmills in Whitecourt and Fox Creek, a bleached chemi-thermo-mechanical pulp (BCTMP) mill and adjacent bioenergy plant in Whitecourt, and a a value-added specialty wood products facility, Spruceland Millworks, in Acheson. In these operations and our Edmonton head office, we employ 700 people full-time and engage many hundreds more on a seasonal, contract basis.
