ParaChem

ParaChem dry chemistry is a limited partnership, owned in partnership by the Company Investissement Québec (49%) and Suncor Energy Inc (51%).

Chimie Parachem sec is the only manufacturer in Canada of paraxylene (PX), an aromatic hydrocarbon that enters the polyester production line for the manufacture of, among other things, clothing and plastic bottles.

The company is established on land occupied until 1985 by the Gulf company, which was then taken over by Kemtec, a company belonging to Lavalin.

Chimie Parachem sec generates approximately 8% of North America's paraxylene production and approximately 1% of world production.

Chimie Parachem is a member of the Association Industrielle de l'Est de Montréal (AIEM) and of the Chemical, Petrochemical, Refining and Gas Sectorial Labor Committee (Coeffiscience).
