Permolex

Situated on 24.4 acres of securely fenced land, monitored by cameras and personnel 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year, Permolex Ltd. operates a unique value-added grain fractionation facility located in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. The facility is the first of its kind in North America. The plant’s design incorporates leading edge technologies and processes to capitalize on the benefits of integration of three traditionally independent manufacturing processes, namely a flour mill, a gluten plant and a FCC grade ethanol/alcohol plant. This unique integration allows the by-products of one process to be utilized as feedstock for the next process.

Our alcohol biorefinery in Red Deer was completed in 1998. Using our food waste, our facility produces high quality FCC grade ethanol.

The facility produces bakery flour, vital wheat gluten, food grade alcohol and livestock feed. It also has the potential to produce higher protein vital wheat gluten and the remaining by-products can be further processed to produce incremental revenue streams.
