It is an exciting time for neurointervention. We are creating the field of interventional neuromodulation and neuroprosthetics within the medical subspecialty of interventional neuroradiology. Also known as interventional neurology or endovascular neurosurgery, this specialty comprises physicians trained in neurology, neurosurgery or radiology, and focuses on the use of image-based catheter procedures to deliver technology into the brain and spine.
