Toulouse White Biotechnology

Toulouse White Biotechnology (TWB) missions are :

- to conceive and build biological tools (enzymes, microorganisms) required for the novel production of bio-fuels, bio-polymers, bio-materials and chemical synthons, using renewable carbon, to contribute to the development of the bio-based economy.

- to facilitate the public research / industry interface in the field of industrial biotech.

TWB is build on a public-private consortium of 23 private companies, 5 investors, 3 tech transfer companies and 9 public bodies.

TWB is using the expertise of 300 people of the LISBP (Laboratoire d'Ingénierie des Systèmes Biologiques et des Procédés) and has developed its own technical support platforms (Cutting edge microbial strain engineering, Analytical, Biotransformation and culture process, DSP/USP operations, Bioinformatics, Environmental evaluation, Ethics).

TWB is able to follow the continuum from molecular engineering to pre-industrial pilot scale, all on one site.

Different types of collaborative research and development projects are proposed, in connection with researchers from the top public laboratories. Customized services are also offered for companies on technical support platforms.
