Western Gas

Western Gas is Operator and 100% owner of the development-ready Equus Gas Project, a 2 Tcf gas and 42 MMbbl of condensate resource located in the heart of Australia’s premier petroleum production province.

Our strategy is to accelerate development of the Equus Gas Project, unlock the further potential of the greater Equus regions’ resources and create opportunities for other resource owners to cooperate in the further development of the region.

To deliver on our strategy, we are developing Equus in phases, with the initial development comprising offshore condensate production, nearshore LNG production and domestic gas supply.

The first phase of Equus is being driven though a “design-to-install” contracting approach in partnership with world-leading oil and gas service and technology providers McDermott International, Inc. and Baker Hughes, a GE company (BHGE).

This contracting approach – an Australian first for a project of this size – is typical of the way we like to do business – new ways of thinking, creating shared value and genuine collaboration.

We are excited about the journey ahead and look forward to partnering with like-minded companies to deliver the benefits of Equus gas to industry, customers, governments and the community.

A final investment decision is planned for Equus in 2020 in line with first gas in 2024.
