The main feature of these bits is good steerability and toolface control to provide drilling in line with planned profile, which is especially important in horizontal wells. 5- and 6- bits meet this requirement at best in case of drilling with downhole drilling motors as well as running in hole with Rotary Steerable application. “Hob-bit” is considered to be best solution balancing between high ROP and good steerability options.
