A Versatile, Cost-Effective Quality Building Material Lafarge portland cement is a high quality, cost-effective basic building material used in virtually all forms of construction, from hospitals and homes to schools, tunnels and airports. Lafarge portland cement meets or exceeds all applicable chemical and physical requirements of CSA A3000 and ASTM C150. Advantages Equivalent Performance: Referenced in all major standards and specifications: both nationally with CSA A23.1, CSA A3000, National Building Code of Canada, and provincially. Lower CO2 emissions:Portland limestone cement contributes to lowering the industry’s carbon footprint not only during the manufacturing process. While cement typically represents only 11% of a concrete mix, it accounts for more than 80% of all energy required to produce concrete. Sustainable Construction practices:Portland limestone cement will contribute to more sustainable construction and cleaner air in Canada, by reducing clinker production through the use of limestone. Type GU Portland Cement A general-purpose cement suitable for all uses for which the special properties of other types of portland cements are not required. Type HE Portland Cement High-early-strength cement for use where high early strengths are required. Type HS Portland Cement A high-sulphate-resistant cement for use in applications that require high levels of sulphate resistance. HS cement generally gains strength more slowly than other cement types. |
