N-Butanol is an organic solvent featuring miscibility in nearly all organic solvents and relatively good water solubility. It finds its primary applications in the production of plasticizers, paints and coatings, acetates and acrylates. Other applications include the production of glycol ethers, perfumes, intermediate chemicals for detergents, and antibiotics.
