Establishing a new lawn: - Work 15 to 25 lb. of Weaver Plant Food into each 1000 sq. ft. of soil. After spreading or sprigging, water thoroughly and maintain constant moisture until the grass stand is well established. Established lawns: for cool-season: - Fescue, bluegrass, or other cool-season grasses should be fertilized during fall and winter. In early September, broadcast 15 to 25 lb. of Weaver Plant Food per 1000 sq. ft. of lawn. Repeat with the same amount in mid-February. DO NOT fertilize cool-season grasses in spring or summer. Applying 2 or 3 lb. nitrogen (6 lb. ammonium nitrate) in late April or early May may be helpful in maintaining a greener color during mid-summer (the dormant period for cool-season grasses). Established lawns: for warm-season: - Bermuda, St. Augustine, zoysia, centipede, and other warm-season grasses should be fertilized in spring and summer. In late March or early April, broadcast 12 to 20 lb. of Weaver Plant Food per 1000 sq. ft. Repeat in mid-August. Each month between these 2 applications, top-dress with (approximately) 2 lb. of nitrogen (6 lb. ammonium nitrate) per 1000 sq. ft. DO NOT apply when grasses are wet. Water thoroughly after each application of fertilizer. |
