Ammonium Acetate is available as fine white crystals, or as a 50%, 57.5% or 60% solution in water. Ammonium Acetate is used in textile dyeing as a mordant in the dyeing of wool, silk, acrylics, nylon). It is also used in the surface treatment of metals and as a gelling agent in the production of rubber latex. Furthermore, it is also used in the production of gel foam carpet backing. Pharmaceutical grade Ammonium Acetate is stable for 3 years from date of production. All other grades have 2 years stability. Physical stability and appearance may change before the end of shelf-life if not stored single-stacked in closed original packaging, dry and at room temperature. Ammonium Acetate is a "wet" crystalline product, meaning it is not uncommon for the material to harden/cake. The material can be broken up manually. |
