ICS9518C functions in hot water systems by dissolving paraffin deposits and allowing the dispersants to reduce the surface tension between paraffin particles and dispersing them throughout the produced fluids.

The dispersants in ICS-9518C have solubility characteristics in both oil and water, which allows this product to be used effectively in wells with a high water content. ICS-9518C can be applied by using the following methods:

1. Downhole and flowline batch treatments

2. Downhole batch and circulate treatments with hot water

Treatment rates are dependent upon the severity of the paraffin deposition problem.

Typical dosage will be anywhere from 0.1% to 2.5% diluted into the flush water. For a continuous formulation concentrations from 15-30% are recommended.
