Tall Oil Pitch (TOP) is generated as a by-product of the tall oil industry in Finland at an annual rate of approximately 100,000 tonnes. It serves as an excellent alternative to fossil energy and is used as an energy oil in a number of different industries. Pitch is also used as a feedstock in the production of second-generation renewable biodiesel. Finland has a long tradition in the production and distribution of tall oil-based transport fuel. |
