A finely powdered, odorless and tasteless hydrous Silicate of Alumina, insoluble in water, swelling to about eight times its weight when water is added. It is often used as a suspending agent, in the manufacture of cosmetics, soaps, polishes, paints and adhesives. It is also widely used as a filtering agent in well drilling. |
