Potassium Hydroxide is high purity potassium hydroxide (KOH). Caustic Potash contributes to inhibition of water sensitive shale formations. It removes calcium and magnesium contaminants as hydroxides in water-base drilling fluids. Caustic Potash activates and solubilizes the organic deflocculants such as lignite and lignosulfonate (KAR-CFL). Potassium Hydroxide controls the pH and alkalinity properties of water-base drilling fluids to treat carbon dioxide contamination. It reduces corrosion rate by maintaining high pH. |
