Sodium Formate (NaCOOH) is a white free flowing crystalline organic salt of 97% purity. Sodium Formate brines contribute to formation damage control by stabilizing the water sensitive clays during workover and completion operations and eliminate the risk of scale formation when either the produced gas or formation waters are rich in carbonate and sulfate ions. Formate-base brines have better HSE characteristics than chloride and bromide brines.
