Maleic acid is a colorless, crystalline organic compound used to make other chemicals and for dyeing and finishing naturally occurring fibers. It is combustible, although difficult to ignite, and is considered toxic causing extreme irritation to eyes, skin, and respiratory systems. Other than industrial uses, maleic acid has few applications. |
