Along with the traditional polyester, silicone, paints and coatings applications, hydrophilic AEROSIL® products are used with increasing success in high technology fields. To meet these needs several grades have been developed with especially high chemical purity and distinctive particle nature. Furthermore, the hydrophilic AEROSIL® grades are characterized by an amorphous structure (determined by X-ray diffraction and high resolution TEM). Depending on the market and application, products with different BET surface areas. Certain types are also available as densified, pharmaceutical, or food grades. |
