For window profiles, it improves luminosity, gives a smooth finish and a high gloss by improving melt elasticity and reinforcement. Impact resistance in rigid PVC is substantially improved with Socal, particularly at low temperatures, and it can be used to replace or supplement organic impact modifiers. Use it as an effective flow aid, limiting the compaction of problem powders, or to provide viscosity control without any adverse effect on adhesion. Socal comes in various grades and formulations.
