Imerys Suzorite range is a platy phlogopite mica that’s chemically inert and provides high thermal stability. It’s ideal for replacing ammonium polyphosphate (APP) in halogen-free flame retardant polyolefins.

Loading levels of 30-35% APP are commonly used to meet UL94 V-0 ratings. However, APP is expensive and diminishes physical properties such as tensile strength. Replacing up to one third of APP flame retardant with our Suzorite mica provides reinforcement, boosting of tensile properties and material integrity. Imerys Suzorite® range also improves char promotion and afterglow time. This combination of properties allows formulators to maintain the balance of fire and mechanical performance.
