Description
It Is an organosulfur compound. It is commonly used in the chemical industry as a dipolar aprotic solvent in many chemical reactions and chiefly utilized for extractive distillation. Its key applications are aromatics extraction also known as BTX extraction and in gas sweetening process called Sulfinol Gas Treatment Process. Because of its high thermal stability, Sulfolane can be operated at wide range of temperatures.
