It is used as a fungicide and in a nutrient solution, special fertilizers, non-linear optical material for laser applications, and wastewater purification. It is employed as a buffering agent in pH calculations, paper processing, pharmaceuticals, urinary acidifiers, baking powder, and food products. It is used to prepare buffer solutions for affinity capillary electrophoresis (ACE), high-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC), and equilibrium dialysis. It is used as a phosphorylating agent in chemical synthesis and to produce collagen nanocomposites and prosthetics devices |

Monopotassium phosphate (MKP) (also, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, KDP, or monobasic potassium phosphate) is the inorganic compound with the formula KH2PO4. Together with dipotassium phosphate (K2HPO4.(H2O)x) it is often used as a fertilizer, food additive, and buffering agent. The salt often co-crystallizes with the dipotassium salt as well as with phosphoric acid. |
